Here are Sheila's words

I have decided on What a Ball because it warms my heart to the core. The scene in the print captures the feeling of home to me, although my life looks nothing like that print.

My yellow lab, Radar (the best dog in the world), died 1.5 years ago and I presently don't have a cat or a home of my own. My sister pointed out that I do have a home, as I am at home wherever my dogs are. She is right. I have an ancient, deaf lapdog that I adore and who adores me. I also have a less ancient black lab (only 10-12 years old) that I recently adopted from the local animal shelter. She is the epitome of the sweet lab. Wherever they are, I am too, and that is home.

In this trying economy when people are losing or are at risk of losing their homes, I hope that they know that a home is not defined by a building, but by the beings in it.Many thanks to all of the wonderful beings at Dog Mountain. Funny thing -- I always feel at home there, too.

With love and heartfelt thanks, Sheila, Chapin and Kerry
