Potomac Speciality

captain Greetings From Dog Mountain,

Stephen and I have just returned from an exhilarating trip to the Potomac Spring Specialty in Frederick Maryland, a wonderful all Labrador Dog Show.

All the Lab lovers there treated Stephen like rock star. An especially friendly group of dogs and people, one person in particular comes to mind.

One of the attendees, Sandy, a self-confessed "Labaholic", said one of the things on her top ten list of things to do in her lifetime was to meet Stephen Huneck! She was simply thrilled to have the opportunity to spend some time with him. A Massachusetts native and professional photographer, Sandy also let us know that "Dog Mountain" was named one of the ten best places to bring your dog in Sunday's "Boston Globe."

Library Card Unveiled St Johnsbury Library Card

Speaking of colorful, the Saint Johnsbury Athenaeum is unveiling the new Stephen Huneck designed library card today at 3:30 today. Library Director Lisa Von Kann said, "I thought it would be cool to get Stephen Huneck's artwork on our library card. His children's books are just delightful." Stephen and Sally will be reading from his latest book "Sally Gets A Job".

Tribute to Stephen

Stephen and I were also very honored to find out Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy entered a "Tribute to Stephen and Gwen Huneck" in the March 12, 2008 Congressional Record Vol. 154 No. 42.

Senator Leahy says in the Tribute, "One of the pleasures of living in a small state like ours is that we have had the opportunity to get to know Stephen and Gwen and realized what real human beings they are. If one goes into my office in Washington, my office in Vermont, my home in Vermont, or my home here, one would see many pieces of Stephen's artwork. Both Marcelle and I are great fans of his."

A wonderful heart warming week all around. Dog lovers are the best!!

Sincerely, Gwen Huneck
