DESCRIPTION:Join us Memorial Day Weekend at the Stephen Huneck Gallery on Dog Mountain for the 2nd Annual Creativity Unleashed Student Art Celebration\, a special exhibit featuring artwork created by students from across Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and inspired by the work of artist Stephen Huneck. \nOver the past several months\, students from six Northeast Kingdom schools\, including elementary and middle school classrooms and a cooperative homeschool community\, have explored creativity\, storytelling\, and emotional expression through the theme of Stephen Huneck’s well-known artwork\, Dogs Make People Human. \nBeginning in early April\, students traveled to Dog Mountain to experience the property firsthand\, visit the Dog Chapel and Gallery\, and learn about the history and mission of this unique place dedicated to dogs\, art\, nature\, and healing. Along the way\, students shared stories about beloved pets and reflected on the important role animals play in their lives. This year’s Labor of Love centers around bringing that fence back to life\, and we invite you to be part of that transformation. \nJoin us for a Labor of Love Event where we invite friends of Dog Mountain to volunteer their time\, talents\, expertise\, and sweat to throw Dog Mountain a day of repairs\, maintenance\, and general sprucing up. It’s a chance for all of us to honor Stephen and Gwen’s legacy and give back to the mountain that’s given us all so much. \nWe have lots of jobs for all skill levels\, and everyone is welcome! Some of the projects on our list: \n\n\n\nHeart Fence Restoration: This year’s big project is the repair\, reinstallation\, and painting of Dog Mountain’s famous heart fencing. This iconic Stephen Huneck feature has long welcomed visitors and become part of the visual identity of Dog Mountain\, but time and weather have taken their toll. With your help\, we’ll bring this beloved fence back to life with some much-needed TLC.\nSpring Spruce-Up: We’ll also be tackling a variety of general clean-up and beautification projects around the property\, including gardening\, planting\, cleaning\, brush hauling\, and other seasonal tasks to help Dog Mountain look its very best.\n\n\n\nCan’t make it to Labor of Love and still want to pitch in?
